Dovedale National Nature Reserve boasts ancient ravine woodland, wildflowers, limestone crags and a variety of wildlife. I thought I'd share this lovely, leisurely walk, perfect for a Spring day. Continue past the pub, down the road, as you descend gradually on your right youll see the iconic hill Thorpe Cloud. This first Dovedale walk is a simple stroll up and down either side of the wonderful River Dove, with a little stepping stone bridge to enjoy half way around. Stepping stones exposed so could cross the river. Extremely busy at the beginning especially around the stepping stones, however get a mile down the track and it does quieten down.
